My wife and I were watching this documentary called Eames: The Architect and The Painter. During the movie my wife made a comment about how their designs and home did not look dated or old. The idea of things maintaining their beauty really hit me. I believe that for artwork to not look dated, the technology or technique should not be the primary story. We will look back at the Instagram filters ten years from now and laugh about how we took pretty poor photographs and added a filter and called it AWESOME. Don’t miss understand me, I love Instagram, I just don’t think the photographs we take with the app will be something we cherish for a lifetime unless the subject matter is something beautiful and important. We can often get distracted by all the “COOL” stuff that is available to us and loose track of what really is important.
What lasts is a unique vision or thumb print that no technology can mass produce.
